volere sm → will, wish(es);

contro il volere di → against the wishes of;

per volere di qn → in obedience to sb's will o wishes vt

1. (= esigere, desiderare) → to want;

3. volerci (= essere necessario) [+ materiale, attenzione] → to be needed: [+ tempo]; to take;

4. voler bene a qn (amore) → to love sb;

(affetto) → to be fond of sb, like sb very much;

voler male a qn → to dislike sb;

volerne a qn → to bear sb a grudge;
